WELCOME TO IN FLIGHT COLLECTION. . . JEWELRY INSPIRED BY BIRDS & NATURE
Thank you so much for visiting the In Flight Collection website! My name is Brenda, and I am the owner and designer for Let it Be Boutique. The In Flight Collection, is one of the many lines I've created for the company. Each piece from the In Flight Collection are inspired by birds. I even included pictures of the bird(s) in which inspired each necklace and earrings.
I am a native Washingtonian, and great-grand daughter of Grammy Award winning, Elizabeth (Libba) Cotten. I am a self-taught jewelry designer and began my craft as a hobby in 1993. During that time, I only made earrings until co-workers, family and friends requested matching bracelets and necklaces. The positive response encouraged me to begin making and selling jewelry part-time. Currently I have a home studio where I create my jewelry. I primarily use natural gemstones, sterling silver, copper and African brass in the designs.
Oftentimes, I am commissioned to create customized pieces for clients. My design style and technique reflect the African/Native American culture as well as my personal God given talent to create. The most frequently asked questions about my designs are: Where do you find your unusual stones? What inspires you when you are creating? How do you come up with such unique designs?
That which inspires my work is two-fold; foremost the stones of the earth - it gives me great pleasure using what God has provided to mankind for our enjoyment and pleasure. Through nature he has given us so many beautiful, awe inspiring gems that delight many. Secondly, it pleases me to see the reactions and hear the wonderful comments about my designs. I have a great passion for what I do, and I have been told by many that it shows in my work.
Let It Be Jewelry has been featured and sold in boutiques in Chapel Hill, NC, Durham, NC, in the Washington, DC Union Station and in Occoquan, VA. I also participated in the Duke Hospital “Save the Children” fundraiser in 2014 where my designs were featured and purchased by visitors, patients and employees of Duke Hospital.
Have a favorite bird, and would like Let it Be to customize something for you? Give us a call or email!
